The award ceremony will take place in Moscow. Eight winners of the competition and eight accompanying persons (a total of 16 people) will also be invited to the Parade on Red Square on May 9, 2020, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.  

Sochi hosted the International Volunteer Forum, which brought together more than 7 thousand people from 120 countries of the world – volunteers, leaders of volunteer organizations, experts, government officials. Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation T.Yu. Sinyugina took part in a discussion on volunteering in the field of education as part of the forum’s business program.

T.Yu. Sinyugina said that volunteer activity will be included in the model education program, which is being developed by the Russian Ministry of Education for schools.

“We clearly understand for ourselves that the model program for the upbringing of children, which is being developed today by the Ministry, will also include a section that will contain activities on volunteering and volunteering,” she said.

The Deputy Minister also noted that to date, 6,500 volunteer groups have appeared in Russian schools.

At the events of the business program of the forum, topical topics of the development of volunteering and the prospects for establishing partnerships in this area were discussed. Meetings with experts, discussions, round tables, as well as practical events to improve competencies such as leadership, team building, and the promotion of project activities were held. Forum participants exchanged experience in the implementation of volunteer projects and programs. Volunteers from different regions of Russia presented their initiatives in the social, educational, environmental, medical and cultural spheres.

As part of a useful program, the forum participants got acquainted with the activities of a number of charitable foundations, non-profit organizations and government agencies, providing them with the necessary assistance.

During the forum, the winners of the All-Russian competition of social projects “Volunteer of Russia – 2019” are also awarded in various nominations. They will receive grants for the implementation of their initiatives in the amount of up to 2 million rubles. This year, more than 28 thousand applications were submitted for the competition, and its grant fund amounted to 45 million rubles.

The International Volunteer Forum is the largest volunteering event in Russia. The forum is timed to coincide with the National and International Volunteer Day, which is officially celebrated on December 5.  

The Russian Ministry of Education hosted a meeting of the working group of the federal project “Young Professionals (Increasing the Competitiveness of Professional Education)”. Representatives of executive authorities in the field of education from 73 regions of Russia took part in the event by videoconference. The meeting was opened by the Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation M.N. Rakov.

At the meeting of the working group, the main results of 2019 were summed up on the implementation of the activities of the federal project “Young Professionals (Increasing the Competitiveness of Professional Education)” of the National Project “Education”.

Director of the Department of State Policy in the Field of Professional Education and Advanced Training of the Ministry of Education of Russia I.A. Chernoskutova spoke about the results of the federal project.

Among them – the introduction of final certification in the organizations of secondary vocational education in the form of a demonstration exam, the emergence of 14 centers of advanced vocational training (CEPT), 800 workshops with a modern material and technical base, advanced training of more than 5 thousand teachers (masters).

The participants of the meeting heard reports on the creation and functioning of the Center for Education and Training, the results of research to determine the professions in demand for workers and mid-level specialists, updating the Directory of Professions, the results of monitoring the implementation of measures to equip secondary vocational education organizations with a material and technical base for one of the competencies.

The results of the Abilympics national championship were also summed up.

In conclusion, the participants of the meeting identified the main points of growth and directions for the modernization of the vocational education system in 2020, taking into account the concentration of resources of education, government and business to increase the efficiency of the implemented measures of the federal project.  

From December 9, 2019 to February 28, 2020, the Ministry of Education of Russia, together with the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in the field of education, is holding the All-Russian essay competition among schoolchildren “Without a statute of limitations”, timed to coincide with the Year of Memory and Glory in 2020.

Students of grades 5-11 of general education organizations are invited to participate in the competition.

In the competitive essays, participants are invited to consider one of the issues related to the preservation and perpetuation of the memory of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 (WWII):

• reflection of the events of the Second World War in the history of a subject, city or settlement of the Russian Federation; • history of the creation of a memorial or museum of the Second World War; • WWII in the history of the family of the participant of the competition; • biographies of participants in the war of the Second World War or home front workers during the Second World War; • creativity of writers-front-line soldiers of the Second World War and poets-front-line soldiers of the Second World War; • musical works, books, documentaries and films created during the Second World War or dedicated to the Second World War; • activity of search teams and volunteer organizations and participation of young people in activities to preserve and perpetuate the memory of the Second World War.

The competition is held in two stages: regional in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation (held from December 9, 2019 to January 31, 2020) and federal (held from February 1 to February 28, 2020).

For the federal stage of the competition, one competitive essay with the maximum number of points is accepted from the constituent entity of the Russian Federation. It is posted in the personal account of the subject on the competition website until January 31, 2020.

The winners will be 8 people from among the finalists (participants in the federal stage). As a result of the competition, a collection of essays by the finalists will be published.

Finalists and winners are awarded diplomas. The organizing committee of the competition has the right to establish additional forms of incentives for the winners.

Minister of Education of the Russian Federation O.Yu. Vasilyeva chaired the final meeting of the organizing committee of the National Championship for professional skills among disabled people and people with disabilities “Abilympix”. 

In her opening remarks, the Minister expressed special gratitude to the volunteers, heads of the subjects of the Russian Federation and separately congratulated the Moscow team.

“This year the Abilympics championships were held in all regions of Russia. It is very important that support for this movement continues in the future, so that our children receive hero essay hope and real opportunities for their realization, ”she said.

The Minister also informed about the start of preparations for the X International Abilympics Championship, which will be held in Moscow in 2021.

Director of the Department of State Policy in the Field of Vocational Education and Advanced Training of the Ministry of Education of Russia I.A. Chernoskutov. She noted that the championship has become a key platform in Russia for people with disabilities, where they can demonstrate their professional skills to a wide audience, including potential employers.

I.A. Chernoskutova noted that in comparison with 2015, when the Abilympics movement began, the number of participants in regional championships has increased almost 48 times.

During the meeting, Moscow’s experience in organizing and conducting the championship was presented. Representatives of the Nizhny Novgorod, Kemerovo regions, St. Petersburg spoke about the successful development of the Abilympics movement in the Russian regions.

Head of the National Center for Development of Professional Skills Competitions “Abilympix” D.R. Makeeva reported on how the training camps of the national team are currently being held at the All-Russian Children’s Center “Smena”.
